I'd like to get back into doing more solid suit style tfs. I still really like the gooey variant, but I miss doing solid costumes.
I've been learning more on lighting and stuff... still feel like I need improvement but I feel better about it. I like how the white lines turned out, and I used a new technique to make them which I will have to remember. The twisting rubber glove is probably my favorite single part in the image. Funnily enough, this pic started out as *just* the head. The hand pulling on the mask didn't come along until much later.
Background technique shamelessly emulated from http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4979770
I actually went back and forth between Sai and Photoshop on this. I've used both in conjunction before but never as I did here. I think I like the results of it.
Oh, and I also discovered a new way to use Sai's brush tool (rather than pen tool) for the lineart, which I think turned out well. It also ends up combining the sketching and linearting stages into one which saves shittons of time.
*cough* and this WAS going to be available for print purchase on inkbunny (not that anyone ever buys prints XD) but inkbunny went into maintenance mode mid upload. How convenient.
As for the story of what's happening, feel free to make up your own. Sorry, I'm not great with that aspect.

I'm getting kind of a futuristic dystopia superhero world vibe off of this guy. These cats march through the city, looking for another human to draft into their pack. They don't need weapons to subdue anyone. All they do is touch the synthetic skin suit to them, and they're quickly enveloped, now unable to disobey the orders of the grand poobah. Might as well just enjoy it. :)
Awesome as always. Great color combination, the white really dos make it pop.
I'd say, based on the position of the paws, this started out as just the shell or rear half of the costume. The guy steps back into it in and is starts to wrap around and encase him.
Gosh your stuff really does fire the imagination!
I am also intrigued by your statement of wanting to do more solid costume tf's - might I beg you for some elaboration?
