Dealanach closed his eyes and ascended into the air, clenching his hands. The wind howled around him, rain splashing into his eyes and numbing his fingers. He chuckled grimly as he saw the group watching from below.
"Alright, Duncan." The voice buzzed in his ear. "Show us what you've got."
Dealanach grinned, opened his eyes, and spread open his hands. He let the taste of ozone fill his mouth and felt the hair rising on his scalp. His muscles began to buzz, and his neck stiffened. His world became a kaleidoscope of colours, shapes, and sensations. He could feel the crowd down below, feel the currents running through their bodies. He could feel the static in the air, and the gentle thud of the earth's magnetic field. Below him he could even feel the sea, rolling and roiling.
The storm was growing. He didn't have long.
He stretched out his hands, and felt heat stab through every fibre of his core. He let it fill his mind, revelling in the power that flowed through him. With a sudden, almighty flash, the lightning struck home. He was calling the storm to him, he could feel the magnetic field shifting and rolling. Away from the city, and towards this evacuated spot of coastline. The power he felt in his palms was indescribable - unlike anything he had felt before. It was like playing tug of war with a raging bull. He rooted his feet onto a magnetic pillar that he conjured from the air, and heaved.
"Good god..." The voice crackled in his ear. "He's not just moving the hurricane...he's calming it!"
Dealanach smirked, hearing the crack of lightning behind him. If only someone had a camera that wouldn't short out...
