Consortium Cast- Magis Laeaksh'tera
There is a lot of this that is a matter of me not knowing what exactly I should be doing with this image. As such he looks extremely awkward and stiff. Probably should have just grabbed some images from like Battlestar Galactica's Chief and just used that as pose inspiration. Ah well. I still think he turned out decently. I really like how the scales turned out.
Anyway, here we have Magis, who is in charge of all of the engineers on the station. Technically he's mostly only directly in charge of the engineers in the fighter bays, but he's on the council to represent pretty much everything of a technological nature. Which effectively means that all maintenance personnel also report to him, though he often delegates that aspect as much as possible. And technically they can refuse an order he gives them. But it's a big station, meaning thousands of individuals helping to keep the station up and running and that needs to be centralized under one person on the council, so that goes to Magis. Magis stands at 3'8", 75 pounds and 83 years old at the start of the story.
Magis loves tinkering with things. And of course that meant getting him into a lot of trouble growing up because he kept trying to dismantle terraforming equipment to try and figure out how they worked. He is a part of the Falaa group for the Raeshael, which is usually the smallest of the three factions but tend to play as the mediators as they simply back whichever side is being aggressed on, putting the aggressor at advantage and the other two hate each other far too much and depend on the Falaa to keep the other at bay to attack them.
At the age of 12 his colony had him shipped off to go attend the Raeshael's most prestigious engineering university. Not so much because he was that intelligent, but because it was cheaper to send him to a place that would enable him and nurture him in his obvious passion and pay for that tuition than it would to keep repairing the things he was breaking down to study. So they paid for his entire schooling so long as he stayed away until he had graduated. And though he was more intelligent than most, he struggled very hard at first. Too much was simply way over his head. But he was determined to justify the faith his colony had in him and finally got his first degree two years younger than most of the other graduates. And after another ten years of schooling he was confident in his skills enough that he returned home to start tinkering with their terraforming equipment again, though this time actually improving them rather than breaking them.
Magis then spent about 20 years going from planet to planet just improving their equipment and making sure everything was running smoothly, but there was simply the problem in getting bored with the job as many didn't appreciate you trying anything new, only make what they know works work at its best. Eventually he got picked up by the military, but they too kept trying to keep his tendency at tinkering at bay. The Falaa serve the balance by being seen as weaker than the other two and thus not a threat. So becoming significantly technologically advanced over the other two was against that faction's drive. So they mostly just kept him to maintaining equipment and ships. When he heard about Foznetal and the opportunity for Magis to bring out his full potential in such a location he actually put in his transfer request right then and there, even though it wasn't even functional as a station yet. He figured eventually that he'd be sent there and keep doing what he has been for decades over there with a bit more freedom. What he didn't expect, however, was that not only did they grant his request, but chose to have him represent their interests on the council as the Engineering Orenshii.
Magis is fairly skilled at magic, at least when it comes to precision. He's not that great at Con magic, only knowing the basics and thus would rate at a D5. Dis magic he can do and is rated a 3. Sym magic is more his specialty as it serves far more purpose to tinkering than the other two, rating a 4 on the Sym Strength and a whopping 27 on the Sym Skill scale.
