Chapter one of a new story series. Because my brain WILL NOT let me focus on anything else, so maybe if I can get some of the ideas here out onto the world, it'll free up pressure or whatever and I can focus on the other stuff I have going on. Maybe. We'll see. I'm still new at all this, okay? I don't want to abandon the other stories, I'll do everything I can to make sure they continue.
Anyway, I guess it's minor spoilers, but the "hero" of this story is eventually going to take on the name Vayryn, hence the original title "Vayryn the Yinglet". I changed the name later because I came up with a better one.
It takes place on modern-day Earth, and the Out of Placers comic exists in the story, which is going to lead to some (hopefully) interesting and/or funny shenanigans! To be honest, I feel even more self-conscious about this story than my others, possibly because it's the closest to being autobiographical yet. Maybe you've noticed the theme going, but all my main characters are based on me, with changes made to suit the story. ^_^;;
I did try to make it so that even if you aren't familiar with the comic it's based on, you wouldn't be lost trying to read this. Hopefully the minor explanations of things don't get too annoying.
