Yes, I am using text as a substitute for a background.
This species was designed for a novel I'm working on. It was surprisingly easy to draw (though I'm not too happy with the reflective highlight, but what can I say -- I'm an ameture). The benefits of having a completely non-humanoid face, I suppose.
He's supposed to be slug-like, by the way. Minus the eyestalks.
