Badge Commission from Kay-Jo at FC 2011! Thank you again! (and apologies it took me this long to upload a proper scan!)
I have a fond memory related to this badge (and a few others from the time): it was before I'd gotten a proper ref sheet for my bun-self. I used to tell artists for the description of my sona to "make the fur kinda grey-ish brown, whatever color that sounds right as being?" I was wholly thinking about the mottled coat of cottontail rabbits that you can find just about every-goddamn-where around where I grew up, but the artistic license I gave to artists to experiment with what color my fur would actually be led to a lot of neat variations that all came out lookin' kinda neat (and super adorable). Used to do it with the earrings, too: "just two in the left, one in the right, whatever shape, color, or anything else that you think looks neat." I was never disappointed.
To swerve away from what I wrote in the other commission: I do want to make mention that I definitely feel awkward about the language I used in the previous submission (the one taken via phone camera in poor lighting, y'know?). Maybe at the time it was actually perfectly fine - it has been 11 years since getting the badge - buuuuuut absolutely in retrospect I can see how that mighta come off as a bit strange. If'n ya happen upon this, Kay-Jo, I do want to extend an apology.
BUT BACK TO TALKING ABOUT THE ACTUAL ART.
I really dig the almost comic-book sort of shading done in the hair that was done with this one! I must've bungled my eye color somewhere in the din of the artist alley, but otherwise this definitely was probably the most masc I ever got to look in any commission - like a big stocky himbo bun who just wants to give u a hug and cheer u on! Honestly? That's a vibe that (even if I'm much more feminine-leaning these days) I can't not smile about.
And first person to tell me that I still got big ol' dorkteefs gets bit.
