More Galapagan Wyverns. Playing around with some face designs. Drew all except the fat guy on some envelopes I had lying around.
Used actual references of iguanas this time since i had the computer available. Also drew a proposed youngin' wyvern.
Idea, gimme some feedback:
Wyverns have a strong genetic aversion to weight gain except in extreme cases. They normally live along cliff edges and need to be pretty spry to glide effectively from roost to roost. Usually, only the elderly gain weight once they've stopped being fertile. Because the elderly don't need to breed, they don't need to crawl around cliff sides laying eggs. However while they don't breed anymore, elderly wyverns still are fairly healthy in their later years. They generally protect the cliff from assault via the land by raiding clans (wyverns aren't opposed to cannabilistic egg-eating) or other predation. Their hefty weight also means they're more of a match against seaborn predation and they often follow young hatchlings on their first several swims to make sure opportunistic seals or large fish don't take eat them.

Don't tell me you've never seen The Dark Crystal?

Awesome suggestions, and I like your ideas for weight gain a lot more than my current ideas. It would at least mean they're a bit more mobile. It also means the shapes available for character design are more varied.
Yeah these are more iguana-y because I had references on hand this time and wasn't just pulling from memory. Their overall shape is really variable though (for fun) so if you want to make one that's based more on a certain kind of iguana than another, you're able to. Same with color, though colors can be borrowed from almost any kind of lizard. True it's slightly unrealistic, but for fun's sake I like the idea. And making these guys is as much more about fun than spec evolution, especially since they might live in a world where magic is a reality.
The third eye concept is one I'll have fun playing with for sure.
