Prompt: road
“A well-dressed toad
Came down the road
Toting a great big gun;
‘It’s part of my code’
He said as he strode
To have some violent fun.”
“That doesn’t scan well,” the cow said in an accusatory tone, but she smiled nonetheless.
The bull smirked, giving a shrug that made the contents of his pack jangle. “Hey, it gives me something to do. I don’t hear you saying anything better.”
“Hmm,” and his companion thought for a moment.
“Through the pavement grew a flower
A testament to Nature’s power
Though the world be cold and bleak
There’s always a path Life will seek.”
“How was that?” she asked.
Without breaking stride, he leaned over and the two shared a kiss. “You win,” he said, and they laughed as they kept walking.
