It's been a long time since I've done a serious wildlife portrait...so without further ado here is a neat little pen and ink work: A great blue heron floating majestically above the water.
I was quite pleased with how this one turned out and I still do so very much love my black 'n white pen work. I'm going to frame this one and hang it up somewhere...possibly sell it, if someone will buy. X)

They ARE. I don't know where you are, but I am in the U.S, State of Oregon, and we have them about. they are solitary birds, they don't seem to flock with others of their kind, and my favorite sight of them was watching as it flew up to perch on a lightstand, those huge broad wings make great airbrakes...
*hugs* You are so very kind to me, Seddy. It's strange how my work differs from media to media. It's hard to surpass a sexy Dalek though. They are tough to beat. I'm still watching that Gay Dalek link you gave me. Gaww, I love that stuff... you "Bent metal, twisted old Queen!" *laughs*
I humbled by your words. I have a love with pen and ink...I just can't get enough of it! I do try to balance doing traditional pieces with digital and most of my work is a hybrid of the two, much like comic-book ink and color. I want to thank you for taking the time to make such a wonderful comment. :)

I agree with you completely. Too much pron is just, well... too much. I get sick of it really and I want to do something beyond that, something that I can show my people and family.
As a matter of fact the heron picture along with my cel fish painting will soon be on display at our public library, along with works from other local artists. The new library opens Tuesday and I'm proud to have my art there. :)
