Let's dive right into this new Beastars Fanfiction!
Now Riz is the one who is having a birthday. I wonder if John will have the same problem he had in the first story, what gift to get his friend?
I like the dichotomy of John the mouse being friends with Bill the Tiger, you would think they would be natural enemies, but they make their acquaintanceship work on their own terms.
WOW! So Fred just randomly kisses John with no warning or permission? And on the LIPS for Christ's sake? Holy shit, this got intimate REAL fast!
I mean the size difference alone would be staggering. A polar bear and a mouse? The white bear alone must have 20x the body mass of the anthro versions of their bodies. The sheer mechanics of the volume disparity between their bodies make this such a rare event.
That's admirable that Bill tries to stop John the mouse from dancing for Riz on his birthday, since John has had injuries to his leg from an earlier time, breaking it even. This is strong evidence how much Bill cares about John.
And it becomes clear that Riz feels the same way. Rightfully so, even. Tearing up at the sight of his friend preparing to dance even though it leads to physical pain, wow, that's a poignant scene. Well played.
I like the subtle mention of "Riz kissed me and got..." That was pretty fast and delightfully unexpected lol.
And thus the ethos of the finality is revealed! That the health and safety of your friends is tantamount to any birthday or festivities. Riz cares far more about John's safety and security than any fleeting physical gift. They both share a tender brotherhood, and the affection Riz and John show for each other reveals their kindred spirits.

Haha, I think a Mouse Hero fits perfectly well within the lore and confines of the story. I mean, consider the sheer emotional challenge of an above average height Brown Bear making friends with a tiny mouse. The juxtaposition of such an arrangement drives the interest in the story all by itself.
No worries, John. Call the misplacement of a cat by a mouse main character an 'artistic license.'
