Definitely. I've used a Mother-32 that I borrowed from a friend in the past. It's a bit of work to get the sound you want but that's mainly because of how much control you have over it. I'm still waiting on mine to come in the mail but in the mean time to scratch my synth itch I've been playing around with a TB-303 emulator on my phone.
