The ears are STILL a little too big, but ears are my weak point forever :) All in all I'm really happy with how this turned out

I think you did an awesome job adjusting a beaver's head shape to fit a human skull. I'm especially in love with the nose. But I agree the ears are still a bit too big. Because of the modifications you had to do to the shape of the skull, these ears seem a bit more feline when seen from the side, like a panther's ears. From what I see in pictures, http://www.infovisual.info/02/photo/beaver.html , what makes the profile of a beaver "beaverish" is the way the square head seems to be part of the shoulders with very little apparent neck. However on a human you cannot really do that.
I don't know what kind of modifications are still possible for you at this state, but maybe very little adjustments could help emphasis even more the great work that went into the face. Maybe some padding behind the head/neck to sort of smooth out the transition between head and back that we humans have but beavers don't... Maybe just some clipping on the ears would be sufficient to make them appear a bit smaller and fit better within the silhouette of the head without sticking out as much which would help reduce the feline-like impression they give at the moment?

Thank you! Changing a mustelid-ish skull to fit a human was crazy hard. THe ears were a huge pain just because anytime I made them that small to fit 'along' the skull*Theyre supposed to be crazy streamlined with the head) they would stick straight out to the sides, lol. So I made them as small as possible and tried to keep them semi'streamlined, but coming out the back of the head like that makes them look pretty feline, I agree haha.
I'm going to trim around the ears to clip the fur down and see if that helps. :) Thanks for your input! I really loved reading it

Yeah, they look perfect from the front! I can only imagine how much of a frustrating headache that must be. Equines, mustelids... animals with streamline heads are near impossible to make fit on our flat faces without deforming it too much or seriously get in the way of vision! Ugh!
While I'm at it, I'd like to point out I'm amazed you made the pile direction look natural even though it's reversed on the top of the nose. It makes the fur flow look wonderful by crawling over the nose like that, like it should, actually, but like costume builders usually don't put it because turning the pile around of fake fur is a pain. I have no idea how you managed to make it look natural like that, specially with two toned fur which is a pain to work with as it can easily make any seam stand out like crazy. The fur is flowing nicely as it turns around the muzzle. It's something I'll be tempted to try as well, now that I've seen it actually CAN be done with success.
Now back to the ears. The picture and angle might be playing tricks on me, but looking at it in more details, I think what makes them appear feline to me is just length... Hence why I'm thinking the picture (or bulk of the fur as it comes to tip of the ear) is doing it more than the actual shape in real life.
I'm having a hard time expressing my thoughts with words, so here's a quick red line. http://www.flickr.com/photos/112334.....08/5317586096/
See what I mean? It's really just the tip that makes it feel pantherish to me on the picture.
Are some whiskers in his future? ;)
Are you building the rest of the suit too?

Yes I'm building the rest of the suit :) Thanks for the redline! Its a little too late to change it up now, so I just shaved the fur down pretty close to the backing without letting it be visible and it made a little difference. I'll just have to try harder on the ears next time :D
Building his tail shoudl be alot of fun. :D And his hands(Which will be webbed if things go as planned) will be a nightmare, since reverse stitching won't take to having webbing built into the hands directly- still figuring this part out lol

Oh wow, this is an awesome fursuit head! I've never seen a beaver before! The fur looks great, too.
I realise you're pretty busy, but may I ask what the vision is like with the eyepatch on? I'm looking to make a fursuit of my character who also has an eyepatch, but I'm a bit worried of limited vision.
Thanks in advance!
