Mimba went by another name when she was a young adult lioness of The Pridelands. She was a rogue of sorts, and rather sadistic during hunts towards their prey. However one day, her close friend, a lioness named Nisha became pregnant during the wet season and after a long process of seeing her friend go through it, her outlook changed. She became more considerate and kind, as she couldn’t find a reason why to act like a savage, uncouth beast in this new land.
Tragedy struck however as Nisha went into labor at the height of the dry season. The lioness very sadly passed during childbirth and even worse, her cubs were all dead, stillborn from lack of nutrition. Stricken by grief, she ran from her pride and found herself in a cave not far away. She felt completely alone and declared aloud that she had nothing to live for, and wished that she could only live to fix this land that had betrayed her friend with the drought.
Suddenly, a bright light appeared before her, claiming to be someone very powerful, who could give her the ability to do was she wished, but with a great responsibility. Mimba excepted it and the light suddenly went into her. When she opened her eyes she found herself with a bright coat of white fur, glowing eyes, and most surprisingly, she was heavily pregnant with a rather big litter.
She soon came to realize as her abilities started to develop that these weren’t normal cubs inside her. They were the spirits of Nisha’s dead cubs dwelling within her and acting as a battery of sorts for her powers. She had become the chief shaman of the Pridelands and she was a new lioness.
Centuries passed and her name became almost legendary. Her role was to be the guardian of the lands from threats that could do permanent damage, as well as helping and guiding those who she feels deserve it or ask for it.
