She wasn't supposed to have a human torso, that's a traditional sphinx.
You totally nailed it, and I especially love the visual effects on the wings. Someone has photoshop. ;P
Sorry that it took me so long to comment on this, various elements have come to a head all at once involving shots and lawyers and paperwork, and cranes. Lots and lots of cranes. 340 so far.
