Striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) are an abundant species that can be found around the world in temperate and tropical waters. They're often described as acrobatic and athletic — they can leap 20 feet (6 m) above the water's surface, and dive to depths of around 2,300 feet (700 m).
I've seen these guys quite a few times in the wild, and they're absolutely lovely.
