AWwww thank you! *blushes!* The lighting is the hardest part. XD And it's what really makes the piece...I still have to fiddle with it far as how the hands will be lit in the final version, but I've been taking pics and gathering ref for help! *chuckles*

*sneaks in quietly* I am sorry I never got to offer you a more proper response to the original sketch of this, so I think I will do so here.

I don't think I can express my thoughts on this piece fully until it is finished, of course... but I do have a few ideas regarding what it's meant to represent. Perhaps it's meant to symbolize the re-kindling of an old friendship, perhaps the light represents the deep secrets of her heart. My best guess though... is that she's sharing with him the birth of a star. It's only a guess, but she is the Lady of the Night, so it seems fitting...

I know it's not finished, and I know it was meant as a late Christmas present, but I do wish you to know it brought me much needed warmth (we've all been feeling a bit flat over here and the weather hasn't been helping x) and it's been so cold!!), and a small but genuine smile on my birthday that I will treasure dearly.
