I recently found myself as an early riser. I was going to bed later and later and later. Eventually I went full circle, and here I am at 9 am, waking at 7 am naturally.

I have the same tendency, or at least I did as a kid when I could sleep in during the Summer. Now I'm just tired and miserable all the time. Some people have a 32 or 36 hour circadian rhythm. I seem to want to be awake about 16 to 18 hours and asleep about twelve.

I like to think I am running about a 24 1/2 to 25 hour day. I always feel like I am running later than the rest of the world. That, or I am the first to show up 3 hours early.

I blame my ADD more than anything. Apparently, from what I understand people with ADD enter rem sleep at different times than people without it. I have heard time and time again that ADD is an excuse, or dose not exist. As a fully cognitive thinking adult, I can testify that it indeed is real. I don't like when people say they have ADD when they are obviously distracted by "angry birds". I am talking about knowing that you have to get something done that is life and death important, sitting down to do it, and no matter how hard you try, or understand, you just can't focus, and feel horrible about it.
That being said.. I always have had a tough time getting enough sleep when I try to sync up with the regular "9 to 5" world.

I pump out art mainly at night, and almost very little activity in the daytime.

I read somewhere that nighttime is actually the time where the brain is most active, wheter you're sleeping or not. That is why nighttime is so good for creative work!

I'm a night fur myself too but my mom hardly ever let's me stay up late. although there are some nights we do wind up staying up late but not all the time.

I also tend to be able to get any initial drawings taken care of at night much better than during the day. Tracing onto another sheet of paper, inking the outlines, and adding color, however, I can take care of at any time (usually late afternoon, though).
