Nice work! I couldn't get anything really done in Truespace, I felt like banging my head against a glass screen with a large sticker stating "Buy the user manual to unlock!"
Bryce is okay for terrain (although Terragen is much more powerful, even if limited to 800x600 in free version) but it's *extremely* hard to use with objects. The whole interface seem to revolve around the idea of "cutesy" instead of usable. Of course, this might be as well a case of good old RTFM.
On the plus side, Daz Studio 3 (aka new Poser) interface is actually better than Bryce's so it should be quite possible to just use Bryce as the render backend.
I'm currently learning Modo, which is like a breath of fresh air compared to previous two apps. Unfortunately, it isn't quite cheap... Cheaper than most of it's direct competition but not exactly cheap.
