They're squirrels. What would you expect them to do with a tree near. They decided to help me go pick apples that day back in 2018. This is an heirloom variety called Winter Banana. Good all around apple for nibbling or baking. They are a "winter keepah". I keep 8 or so in the back of the fridge from harvest time to Easter to make pie. Yes, they will keep that long in cold storage.
