When charging an attack requires your opponent to stay still and use all his concentration and he's either barefoot or with easily removed sandals, tickling is the best method or at least the most fun way to cancel that attack.
It's fun as well seeing Knuckles and Sonic cosplaying as Akuma and Ken.
