I was tired of not being told whether my comic text is too big or too small, so I made up this character and tried all different types of sizes. I started out the drawing on paper, measuring with a ruler. Once I go under 1/4 inch (size 3) or 3/8 (size 4), it's too small. Even 3/8" is pretty tiny. 7/8 inch text or 1/2 inch text is actually not as huge as I thought it was. When you match the lettering in Adobe Illustrator and paste in Photoshop and resize the finished product to 800 pixels in height, that's really where you can tell where the readability is. Unless you want viewers to squint.
