I first heard this song on my 18th birthday in a place called Port Patrick, in the south of Scotland. I had recently acquired the album Takk by Sigur Rós, and intended to listen to it in this place. As soon as I heard this song things just got better and better. I used to listen to really heavy aggressive music, but as soon as I heard this song it was like a switch just flicked, and I couldn’t stand that stuff anymore. This then led to me buying every album I could by Sigur Rós and the music just got better and better. Once i got my head full of their music my appreciation for bands such as Pink Floyd, Jean-Michel Jarre, Tool, and Steven Wilson, just got greater and greater. Music for me just got better and better, and became a very important part of my life. Then I started making my own music, and now I’m a part of a band I am proud to be a member of. Then I moved away from reality for a while to explore a new world in my head using the new music I now listen to as a mind altering drug, which has lead into the artwork I do today. This one song really turned my life around, and it is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
