They're genetically modified humans, created for life on Mars, the moon, and zero-g space stations. While the labs that created them were shut down, a few million of them still exist and considering that they can reproduce with each other and with Earthen humans, they're here to stay.

They're still homo sapiens but if you must be very specific you can say homo sapien luna, wise man (from the) moon. Maybe. I'll work on it.
