And she's dancing like she's never danced before...
Oh, the 80s ^.^.... Legwarmers, how I love thee. Oh, and because I know people wonder about these things - her leotard zips down the back to accommodate the tail, and the headband wraps around the ears as it goes around the head.
Done with pentel brush pen and prismacolor pencils on 8"x10" colored textured paper.
The original will be in the FC2011 art show =)

I was actually looking at some pictures from my youth and school years, and one thing I did notice was how the clothing and hairstyles changed over the years.
I remember thinking "Did I really wear THAT?" looking at a few of the pictures.
It's amazing at how many memories come back to you looking at a single still picture from the past that you otherwise had a hard time to recall, if at all. :)

I had the mixed blessing in school to have to wear school uniforms from 6th to 12th grades... so I dont have a whole lot of 'what was I wearing?' photos, although my hair was frequently terrible (I doubt it was ever in style, though)
My family was teasing me around Christmas for being the kind of kid, when I was real young, who just wore whatever was on top, without trying to match colors or be choosy about styles. At some point I outgrew that, but I have never been trendy as far as styles go, so I doubt I'll ever look back at photos of me and think 'wow thats so (insert decade)".. which, in a way, is kindof too bad ^.^, But I guess I save myself some embarrassment there.
I also get the 'chalk drawing' feeling from using this combination of media =D I should pick up a few other colors of this kind of paper, as its been a good experiment for me.
