"Keer reading Link's dog tag while she sleeps snuggled against him.
Calatonan soldiers are given alphanumeric serial numbers that they are identified with in government systems and records. It makes it a lot easier to identify wounded and/or dead in battle, for example, Keer's tag reads MZK.49o1 on one side and one would simply have to enter this sequence of numbers into a hand held computer and they would be able to access his personal information, including, but not limited to previous occupations, living records, etc. On the other side is just a quick stat listing; full name, blood type, and DOB.
Link's tag seems to be an exception to the norm, in that she only has a number, no letters, just a number; 5. Keer is curious about this, especially because Link apparently has no records in any database, neither does her ID number yield any results. According to the Calatonan government, she doesn't even exist."
