You grab the purple potion and throw it at the golden dragon. With a snap of his jaws, the potion vanished inside the dragon's mouth. You wait to see what affect this would have on your former friend. At first it seemed that nothing had happened. The dragon had stopped growing- which was good! But he was still quite dangerous. Suddenly he began to shrink. The dragon was not happy about that! You know that size was one of Mystic's inner desires and he was quite upset to have it taken away. You duck away from a stream of fire launched in your direction as the dragon takes flight- now small enough to fly around the room! You hide behind the work desk as he flies to the other side. Then you sneak around the cauldron as he flies across the room. It gets quiet and you wonder if the dragon had managed to get outside when you turn and find yourself face to face with those golden scales and scarlet red eyes!
The dragon roared angrily and unleashed a torrent of fire directly at you- singeing your mustache. By now he was only about a foot tall and his fire powers were significantly reduced. He roared again which now sounded more like a meager “rawr!”
“There you go! Nice Mystic...” You cooed, wrapping your arms around the little dragon and cradling him in your arms. He didn't like that one bit and clamped his jaw around your wrist, but by now his teeth were too small to break the skin. It didn't even hurt that much!
“I know, I know, you want to be all big again. But we can't have that until you're not a danger to the countryside! Here, I know!”
You rummaged around an old chest and pulled out a sack full of gold coins, pouring them into a pile in front of the fireplace. The dragon- what was left of him- looked at the gold, then back to you, giving a satisfied puff of smoke in your direction. He then eagerly curled up on the coins and fell asleep.
You give a sigh of relief, collapsing into a chair. You weren't sure how long the dragon would be out, but it would certainly give you time to relax until the potion wore off. Maybe you could get one of those hamster balls for him to run around in if he woke up later?
