Experimental sketch animation done for a friend! This one was an important timing test for me since it's definitely different animating with my characters vs. someone else's. The prompt was simple "Reading newspaper and drinking coffee," and I invested three hours to see what it would be like doing these on commission with a time limit.

Predictably, the first hour doesn't get as much done - a lot goes into figuring out the best angle and the keyframes. It was still moving nicely after one hour, but lacked a lot of the frames to give it that smoother look. Most of, but not all, of the inbetweens were finished in the second hour, and in the third hour I got a chance to finish those inbetweens and do the little tone patches for his ear and the coffee. It helps that this was already such a toony character!
