i know, spotty dragons are so cool. honestly, a lot of this design kind of took off when i saw the blue-ringed octopus <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue-r.....ged_octopus>. after seeing those little cuties (cephelopods are so adorable!) i felt a lot more comfortable about a coloration like this.
Beautiful! Definitely a better dragon!! I like the colors, spots, and form. I've got four snakes with spots. Most of the lizards that I see have spots. Finally, a delightfully colorful spotted dragon!
Those leading edge wing tendrils are a very clever aerodynamic idea; leading edge slots and spoilers are used on almost all modern large commercial jet aircraft to allow greater low speed angles of attack and lift without stalling. and to increase drag on landing. Next time you fly, take a look at the movable goodies on the leading edge of the wing doing their thing on takeoff and landing!

the great thing about the wing tendrils is that they can tuck underneath the wing during flight, if speed is needed. i failed to show it on the sheet, but the wing tendrils also have chromataphores, which acts almost like a "turn signal" during flight, allowing her to communicate with other dragons in a "flock".
on top of the wing tendrils, there is a flap of skin connecting the thumb, first finger, and wrist, which helps during breaking. this helps keep the wings balanced during quick breaking, and keeps stress off of one certain part of the wing, and allows it to go through all the wing.

Seriously. You can visualize stress distributions in a structure in your mind, and modify the structure to redistribute the stresses for lighter weight and better survivability under severe loads. That is exactly what the best of us rocket scientists and aerospace physicists and engineers do. By any chance, do you have Asperger's syndrome, as I do?

Parts of the brain that are normally used for social interactions can be redeployed to other tasks such as mathematics, phisics, engineering, art, etc. Of course, I can't remember human faces and names worth a damn...

as far as i'm aware, i don't have AS, and i probably would have been diagnosed at a very early age, because my mother is a therapist and would have noticed any "symptoms" when they would start to manifest. (i do have a cousin with a very low-functioning end of autism - but he was adopted, and there's a long story behind my aunt and uncle discovering his autism, and making his biological mother confess about it. . .)
however, looking at the list, i do share a few of the "symptoms" - i may not be fascinated with maps, globes, and routes, like on the second list, but i do have a photographic memory when it comes to driving or walking (more-so walking, because i get more time to look at my surroundings); i'm very "tactile-sensitive" - my boyfriend even had to pry a toy out of my hands one time when we were in a store because i just couldn't let it go and stop touching it (!); and i've told a lot of friends that "flirting with me is like flirting with a brick wall" - i generally don't give a damn what people are trying to imply with their body language, or what they're saying. not to say i can't interpret it (i'm a conversation ninja, a lot of times i KNOW what people are implying, i just act like i don't to try to get them to look like THEY don't know what they're talking about).
*shrugs*, as far as i know, i just like to take extra time to think about how a design could affect a creature or a machine physically. i dunno, maybe i've just never been diagnosed?
(or maybe i made a good wing design because i'm from Dayton, Ohio - where the Wright Bros. were born. maybe its something in the water *grins*)
