Nice! '51 Buick Super Eight?

Do you remember the magazine CSRtoons?

I used to have quite a stack of them -- also Cycletoons, Surftoon, Hot Rod Cartoons, and anything remotely related. It was one of my earliest ambitions -- to draw stories for one of these publications. What was odd about it was that I was too young to drive and knew nothing much about cars that I hadn't learned through making 1/24 scale models in plastic. Ironically, though I approach 60 I have never owned a car... though I at least learned to drive one.

I submitted one story that Cartoons rejected, naturally enough. It stank. I believe I've posted it somewhere on FA, about 200 files back...

A car isn't really a "lo-boy" until the axles rest on the ground.

I sense a certain fatigue on the part of that stalwart Buick:
"Oh, God..! What is she gonna do to me *now*?"

What kind of all American American American doesn't love a hot rod? It's what we do, people like us all have a firm belief, nobody deserves to have an ordinary car unless they're an ordinary person... and alla us hotrodders are EXTRAORDINARY...
we bend metal with fire... fuse metal with the very THUNDER OF THE GODS... or a tig welder which ever is handier...

Love it, love it, loooooove it! Then again, I've always had a "Thing" for Raccoon gals who know how to handle an airbrush, wrench, and blowtorch all at the same time.
