In life the spear was all Asherah had known for weaponry, being underwater had made many other forms of weaponry obsolete, weapons that slashed and crushed not having the same amount of force behind them from the drag from beneath the tides. Piercing weaponry, however, was unaffected in large parts of this fatal flaw, giving rise to spears and salvaged harpoons being mainstays. Even once ascended to Godhood and placed within other Deities, her weapon stuck with her, now imbued with powers that could rival even her peers in strength and potency.
