I've been kicking this around since December. It started out more as a chance to get to know my Roland XV-2020 better. Then it became something to mess around with my new Waves plugins. I'm not sure if I'm done with it, so it's still sort of a rough mix. All samples are from the XV-2020 except the shakers and cymbal.
I'm thinking about replacing the bass with something from Reason (the sample I used has too many "sweet spots" making it kinda hit and miss on good thumping).

Thanks :) I've always loved the Megaman music from the NES. I'm not as good as some people out there, but I've also only done 4 songs total so I still have a lot to learn. My biggest problem is I suck at playing the keyboard, so I get to slog through a passage, then go back and quantize the crap out of it ^^
Hee, you are talking to the wrong person about music. It goes way over my head and I know nothing about playing with the necessary tools or instruments. ALl I can say is that I loved this piece and might suggest you trying Sparkman next? Please? He's my fave from Megaman 3.
It's very good --- easily better than the original, in fact!
But there's something missing...
More bass, like you said, would have been better. But what I think would be best to add, would be stronger and more varied percussion, and maybe an electic guitar, instead of that chimy synth.
Even so, it's still pretty good.

Yeah guitar would be nice, but synth guitar almost always sounds terrible (though I do have a distortion pedal now I can use on my synth which might make it more tolerable). I have a couple guitars here but I can't play them. I'd try and learn but I'd rather learn to play bass... ^^
