Talk about an overbearing parent....wow this guy is a real piece of work. With a dad like that who needs enemies. Cause there is wanting the best for your child and pushing them to greatness but this is like trampling on them and expecting greatness after you destroy their confidence. This would give most people anxiety or panic attacks...sheesh
Happy New Year to you too!
On the other hand, I know Lasker seems a douche, and even though Raeford doesn't deserve to be trated like that, we cannot jump to conclusions since there's little information about his dad, I have some theories:
A)It's a "I gave up everything for you and is this how you thank me?" situation.
B)Being always late and continuing having his job on Nerd Bird aren't the only reasons Lasker is so mad at his son, maybe more stuff happened which made him cold to his son, maybe said son did something stupid that costed his dad his right eye.
C)A and B.
So even though Lasker seems to go too far, we have to wait before painting him as a villain, because even though he doesn't seem to be a morally white character, who knows, he could be a moreally grey character a instead a straight up villain.

Hey it’s me and my dad. Hopefully the future pages of this comic are much less “realistic” cuz he kicked me out when I came out in 2006 when I was 21. I had to drop out of college in my final semester cuz I was living at home cuz my college was 20 minutes away. That was fun. I feel for guys with this type of relationship with their fathers. On a positive note, he’s since apologized and we made up. He and my mom visit me like once a year, cuz I moved 3000 miles away. I kinda get it I guess. He’s a Vietnam vet, firefighter, just that type of stereotypical strict father. We’re good now. This page just brought up some emotions. Which is why anti-dev is such a good artist cuz if you can do that, you have the gift.
