I realize I never uploaded this here, so this is a good thing to do for the new year :)

Solfin is capable of turning into other species, and Dolphin is one of them.
When in dolphin form, Sol displays Dos' tail markings, to clearly show the form's origin, but not the face ones, to avoid any confusion with the actual dolphin.
