the pupil and whites of the eye are made of needle point mesh (I used the fabric kind) i then glued a tube like shape of fun foam around the edges making a sort of tunnely looking eye. i used black fun foam...but i find a lot of people use the white...it does give for a better follow-me, but i personally like the look of black more. and thaaaank you =)
no problem =) i have totally been there! and these are no secrets anyways, i learned most of it from studying different tutorials and costumes...mashing a few ideas together can make something even better though ;)
I draw it on, so to speak...with a sharpie permanent marker...BOTH sides of the pupil/iris...the whites...i just leave alone...but practice a few times on the mesh..dont just draw one and think its good enough, you wanna go snazzy you gotta spend some time on it right, try out difrent styles and get used to the material...dont rush anything and dont over think to much..most importantly dont give up
your first head will be the most tedious, but it gets easier the more you create... its the like the first time you do anything....you do get better with practice. if you need any help just msg me =D have fun!

thank you so much! i was really trying for that eerie/majestic appearance, even used those words when describing her to others before she was finished! so im glad i nailed it =D....this is my first time trying out a different style of construction and the first to feature a fully movable jaw, so she does look different from my other creations. I will most likely use this style for feature costumes. faster process to!
glad to hear! I love movable jaws and yes you did pull off the vibe wonderfully. I personally love it and I think you have a lot of potential to continue with this sort of style. If you ever get the chance you should put up a youtube video of you talking for a few quick seconds with the head on both over and under-exaggerating the jaw to show the movement. It would be interesting for me to see and quite possibly a lot of others. Especially where this is your first fully movable jaw. And someday you can look back and compare easier if you begin making more. I've been thinking about doing that but my fursuits jaw is falling apart.. I learned a lot of things that I should have done with that one haha. How many have you constructed before? I would love to see some. are they in your gallery?
i just have the 2 for now...but keep your eyes peeled as im almost finished another creation and should be posted this week and i definitely want to make some videos of luna i will try to get around to it today...your absolutely right about looking back on in it the future to see my improvements..its neat now just to line the 3 of them up just to look at them..brings a smile to my face!
