The steady thumps of Pave's paw reverberated throughout the village like a prized percussion set, heralding his coming as he pounded through anything that stood in his way. Trees were crushed like matchsticks beneath the sheer force of his strides, and boulders groaned under their weight as they tumbled away. Even streams and rivers seemed to freeze, petrified into stillness by the godly presence that loomed ever closer.
As Pave finally arrived, the entire village stepped back in reverence. He towered over the entire area, his body blocking the sun entirely; a shadow of pure dominance stretching out for miles. He calmly surveyed the offerings before him before eventually lowering himself, his butt held high in the air with tail swaying from side to side—emitting a power that no one dared challenge.
With a swift motion, he reached out with one paw, which enveloped the tiny form of Kite—a petite grey cat that had been offered up as a sacrifice to the godly Coyote. His fur tickled Pave's paw as he pulled him off the pole he'd been tied too before taking him to his mouth. The villagers all bowed and worshiped in awe as Pave took Kite for a snack.
As he stood up, Pave's body towered over the village and he held Kite between his teeth. The villagers watched in hushed admiration as Pave opened his wide maw and gulped down the cat in one swift motion, not even taking the time to chew. He never once turned his gaze away from them, and a hush of pure reverence fell over the area as if in a trance.
When finished, Pave slowly ascended, leaving nothing but a trail of dust and destruction in his wake. Trees crackled and buildings smashed under the power of his paws and with a final glance, the godly presence was gone. As they watched Pave become a speck on the horizon, the villagers all bowed their heads in both sadness and admiration—for they had just witnessed their beloved Kite give his life as an offering to their godly guardian.
