Heh, that works too. The Jackhammer shows up in video games more than it does anywhere else, one of the refs I supplied for it was actually for Battlefield 2 or something like that.

It also shows up in the paws of crazy skunks who enjoy guns. But that's another story.

Really? I knew it wasn't a popular weapon but I figured it would be used a little more than that! I have a book on 20th century firearms and I'm pretty sure tbats where I saw it

As far as most anyone knows, two prototype models of the Jackhammer were built. No more. No mass production or anything like that, because no militaries accepted it and it was obviously unfit for civilian use. Due to its appearance and function, though, it has a great legacy as a quasi-futuristic weapon (not unlike the Steyr AUG in that respect) used in video games and the like.

The H&K G11 comes to mind over here, but only because, like the Jackhammer, it never got into full-scale production. I think about 1,000 copies were manufactured. It was ahead of its time. :P

Oh yeah g11. XP love that silly looking thing. What about the XM8? That was up to replace the m16 and failed but I still thought it was pretty neat

The XM8... I don't think a lot about things related to the M16 and its kin. I don't have a high opinion of that weapon to start, so its successors aren't at the forefront of my mind. But the XM8 does look pretty cool, for what it is.

Oh? Not an M16 fan then. What do you think of Kalashnikovs? AK47 and the like? I'm not a fanatic but I respect the pros of the gun and I understand the reason for its success and popularity
