Ranger Rourkie - Year of the Rabbit
Hi friends. It's been a long while since I've posted here. Something I've been trying to work on for a while is finding a way to better express my art, so I haven't really been posting much lately because I haven't been happy with my attempts as of late.
You see, my preferred medium is mixed media, and figuring out a way to transform that into digital media has been difficult. I've been working hard to play around with Procreate and trying different brush settings to try to capture that sort of feel of live paint and color mixing, and I think I've managed to develop a technique that I'm happy with.
I've still got a lot of practice to go with my anatomy and my line work, but it definitely makes me happy to sort of finally be able to get digital to look a little more like my traditional work. (I'm still figuring out which brushes are my favorite ones to use, too.)
As it's the year of the rabbit, I wanted to draw Rourkie as a Ranger. This picture is based off of my RL build.

My degree was art with a focus on design, and I do produce art for myself on occasion, but I generally avoid digital drawing if I can help it because I don't like how my style translates to digital, and I'm much more comfortable playing with color values than I am with rendered lines. I'm sure you'll find plenty of my older work in this gallery if you dig back far enough, LOL
