A long-time huge Final Fantasy-inspired illustration for Defiance of her character Wing - it's been in the works constantly being shunted to the back burner over the past half year or so, but is finally finished! Lots of new challenges with this image - was excited to try my hand at painting a couple airships, and had a LOT of opportunity to try to work on my struggle with architecture (all that gothic stonework!).

The detailing! I think I'm about to have an aesthetic embolism... (And I do mean that in a good way.)
I maybe have some wibbles about perspective, but still this is one of those pieces that just draws me in and keeps me fascinated for a long time: one of those landscapes you can walk into and explore and live in for a little while. Love it. :)

lol, thanks so much! And yes, definitely struggled a bit with the perspective >_O The idea was to at least hint at a living breathing fantasy world (kind of part of the Final Fantasy inspiration) - a distant castle/city of one aesthetic and then all the other foreground architecture in another, two vastly different types of airships (I was thinking working class transports versus luxury pleasure yacht cruise lol), etc.
