So, kicking off the year with something from World of Heroes. This is the first official drawing of Alpha Man. He's one of the first superhumans, and pretty much one of the OG heroes in the WOR universe. As seen from his appearance, he fits the more archetypical hero look, which makes sense since he's one of the first heroes in the universe and was designed as a call back to retro superhero designs.

He was once a soldier serving in the US army during one of the wars from back then. But upon coming in contact with an alien device, he gains extraordinary abilities, and is quickly used as a "super soldier" of sorts. He served his country faithfully, but then quit once the CIA planned to clone him to form an army of superhumans. Seeing the danger that it could have upon the world, Alpha Man destroyed the facility, and bowed to be a savior to all of the world, not just his country, and that he would do so by his own accord. After many decades, he became a full-fledged hero, and was hesitantly accepted by the government. Unfortunately, Alpha Man died preventing a catastrophic event, sacrificing his life for the world, just as he dreamed of. His heroics eventually paved the way for a new generation of heroes, but also many villains. But soon, he will return when the world needs him the most...
