Being the manager of her own establishment, Delilah takes pride in her role as boss and feels a deep sense of accomplishment that her business is flourishing like it is; as opposed to failing like many other businesses have. However, as mentioned before (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46454960/ ), she does need time to relax and recuperate. While spending time at home is pleasant enough, Delilah finds much more enjoyment when she can spend time with her best friend Belladonna. So, wanting to have a bit of fun one day, Delilah decided she would call her country friend and spend and evening relaxing. After contacting her friend, Delilah spent a bit of time talking to Belladonna about what they could possible do together; only for the latter to suggest a bar she stumbled across on one of her Sunday drives. Even if it wasn’t an area she was familiar with, Delilah agreed to meet Belladonna at the specified location, excited to spend time with her best friend. Taking her motorcycle and following Belladonna’s directions as best she could, Delilah eventually found the location: a small bar on a barren stretch of road. Seeing Belladonna’s truck parked outside, Delilah made her way inside where she quickly found her friend seated at the bar already enjoying a drink. Giving her friend a quick tap on her shoulder, Delilah greeted Belladonna with a hug, taking a seat alongside her right after. What followed was the two friends reminiscing while enjoying shockingly good food and drinks; having a fun evening in each other’s company as the other patrons enjoyed their drinks and music.

I’m sure these two had an amazing time in something as simple as a lone bar on the side of the highway; and usually it’s the people you associate with that can make or break you. However, it makes you wonder how these two can get along so well? Well, that’s what we’re here to find out! That’s right, it’s time for another character bond pic, this time featuring the likes of Delilah and her best friend Belladonna!

How they met: Delilah and Belladonna initially crossed paths during their final year of middle school, due to the latter transferring to the same school as the former due to her family moving. Though they did not communicate due to being in different classes, Delilah and Belladonna were somewhat aware of each other due to the rumors about the former and the skepticism about the latter; both of which were circulated by the rest of the student body. Due to being informed that Delilah was a troublemaker of sorts by other students, Belladonna tried to avoid Delilah due to not wanting to get in trouble herself. It wasn’t until their freshmen year of high school that both Delilah and Belladonna would properly interact due to issues the former was facing. On one of her walks home from school, Belladonna came across Delilah, who was having issues with her bike. Although still weary of Delilah due to the rumors, Belladonna volunteered to help her due to the frustrations she was displaying. Offering to help Delilah, Belladonna invited the disgruntled rottweiler back to her home nearby where she would help repair her bike. Agreeing, Delilah accompanied Belladonna back to her home, where the latter was able to quickly repair the former’s bike using tools from her father’s shed. Thanking Belladonna for her help, Delilah rode off with Belladonna bidding her goodbye. The two would meet again the next day when Delilah approached Belladonna after school; once again extending her gratitude for the help. Stating how impressive it was for Belladonna to repair her bike, Delilah complimented her school mate’s skill. Thanking Delilah for her words, Belladonna revealed how her dad taught her such things due to the various accidents she had been involved with. This reveal sparked Delilah to inquire more about Belladonna, with the latter more than happy to talk a bit more about her home life. From this initial encounter, Delilah and Belladonna would go on to engage each other, forming a small connection with each other. Over time, both Delilah and Belladonna would meet with each other after school and walk home, with the two talking and getting closer. From these conversations, Belladonna quickly learned that Delilah was not the troublemaker that she was made out to be, and the reason for the rumors were due to Delilah getting into altercations with other students due to mistreatment and bullying she endured from others. It wasn’t long before Delilah and Belladonna’s friendship progressed beyond their after school walks as they would happily associate both in and out of school. Unfortunately, other students continued to urge Belladonna to stay away from Delilah; only for the retriever to angrily state how her friend wasn’t the issue and how the other students who made her feel the way she did were. It wasn’t long before Delilah heard about Belladonna defending her, which truly made her feel as if she had found a true friend. It was due to Belladonna’s defense and others witnessing Delilah’s happiness and more positive attitude that prompted various students to apologize for the rumors and even get to know Delilah better; effectively erasing the doubts that many students had about the rottweiler. This allowed Delilah to have a much better high school life alongside her best friend Belladonna. Delilah and Belladonna would continue to communicate after high school and still maintained a strong bond even when their lives became busier. However, Delilah and Belladonna’s friendship would become somewhat strained due to the former’s marital issues; causing the pair to grow somewhat apart due to lessening contact before abruptly stopping. This did not ruin the bond Delilah and Belladonna shared, as the latter went on a hunt to find the former after losing contact with the rottweiler following an alleged murder conviction. It would be several years later that Delilah and Belladonna would reunite, with the latter finally finding the former following a job opportunity one of her roommates was receiving. Overjoyed, the two friends would promptly reconnect with explanations and stories being shared between them. Though the abrupt disappearance caused a brief wedge between Delilah and Belladonna, it did nothing to diminish the relationship between them.

Delilah’s Side: Aside from merely viewing Belladonna as a new student, Delilah’s initial opinion about the retriever wasn’t too positive; due primarily to her lack of friends and the belief that Belladonna would be fully swayed by the negative rumors before truly getting to know her. It was after Belladonna displayed unfettered kindness towards her, that Delilah’s opinion became a bit more positive. However, it was after hearing how Belladonna defended her, that Delilah’s opinion truly changed; seeing Belladonna as a true friend and someone she would always want by her side. Delilah’s love for Belladonna is undeniable, as she is always willing and able to make time for her friend regardless of the circumstances; and readily welcomes her visits no matter the time. Delilah cherishes Belladonna’s company and always views her with a distinct closeness that she finds deeply comforting. A further testament to this is how much Delilah truly admires how unapologetic Belladonna is at being herself, and just how genuine she is in both her thoughts and feelings. For this reason, Delilah always feels as if she can be herself around Belladonna without any fear or judgement. This attitude can be seen in the activities she usually joins Belladonna on, such as drinking and attending certain events where Delilah is noticeably far more relaxed and easy going. Although many of her interests differ from Belladonna’s, Delilah has no issue joining her friend on things she specifically enjoys or even listening to suggestions Belladonna makes; showing just how considerate she is of what Belladonna likes and how much she values her opinion. Whether it be trying different types of country food or joining her on outings like drives or camping, Delilah expresses enjoyment in the activity so long as Belladonna is also enjoying herself. Delilah undoubtedly trusts Belladonna and is willing to tell her almost anything on her mind; yet, at the same time she doesn’t want to burden her friend with her problems unless they deeply trouble her. Interestingly enough, while Delilah has no issues telling Belladonna certain things; she knows how overzealous Belladonna can be at times and chooses to omit things due to her friend’s possible actions rather than what she might think about her. Combined with her trust in her friend, Delilah has the utmost faith in Belladonna and knows that whatever she entrusts to her, Belladonna will rise to the challenge. One such example was Delilah hiring Belladonna for temporary cook positions at her theater, completely trusting in her ability to cook for some of the guests and that the visitors would love her food; despite Belladonna not being a certified chef. Due to how much she cares about Belladonna, Delilah doesn’t tolerate any ill words or discourtesy towards her friend; so much in fact that she will abandon professionalism and social graces if her friend is disrespected, even going so far as to use violence and intimidation. While Delilah was willing and ready to inflict physical harm onto others when she was younger, this feeling has since lessened with age; but in certain cases, Delilah can and will resort to physical violence if the offense is great enough. While Delilah holds Belladonna in such high regard, she does admit that she feels guilty for worrying her friend due to her sudden disappearance; believing that her friend would view her as a murderer like many others. Feeling a deep sense of regret for this manner of thinking, Delilah expresses shame for putting Belladonna under so much unneeded stress and anxiety; something she deeply apologized for. Acknowledging how wrong she was to think this way and seeing the lengths Belladonna was willing to go to find her; Delilah promised both her friend and herself that she will never doubt the bond she shares with Belladonna ever again. Although having a considerable amount of wealth since her first husbands passing, Delilah states she would gladly trade it all so long as Belladonna is always by her side.

Belladonna’s Side: Belladonna initial opinion of Delilah was somewhat skewed by the influence of other students, something that she fully admits. As such, Belladonna based her perspective of Delilah off of the rumors other students had spread; something she feels guilty of as she had never interacted with Delilah prior. Due to how she was raised, Belladonna couldn’t be fully swayed by the rumors circulating around Belladonna and felt it was better to at least talk to the rumored troublemaker and make her own choice based on the encounter. Belladonna was thrilled to see that the rumors were all false; and upon seeing how kind Delilah truly was allowed Belladonna to quickly befriend her. Belladonna undoubtedly cares for Delilah and this feeling hasn’t waned even after so much time has passed; having seen her best friend at various low and high points of her life. As Delilah is her best friend, Belladonna holds her in high regard and cherishes any and all interactions she is able to have with her; never viewing any encounter as meaningless. Belladonna can undoubtedly be seen as a “partner in crime” to Delilah’s plans as she finds enjoyment in helping Delilah in whatever plan she devises. Due to how much time she has spent with Delilah, combined with seeing her at different states; Belladonna has a distinct knowledge on Delilah’s inner workings. Similar to Edel, Belladonna is highly attuned to Delilah’s mental and emotional state; being able to sense when things aren’t as they should be from minor indications and inflections. This is evident when Belladonna could tell that Delilah wasn’t being herself and how she wasn’t being completely truthful whenever the subject of her marriage was brought into question. Furthermore, due to how much she loves Delilah, Belladonna can feel deeply concerned and distraught if her friend isn’t in the best state of mind. Belladonna’s loyalty and faith for Delilah cannot be understated as she is willing to go to great lengths to ensure her best friend is safe. The greatest example of this was when Belladonna willingly uprooted herself to track down Delilah after she abruptly left; willing to travel a considerable distance to find Delilah in order to receive both an explanation and closure on her friend’s disappearance. A further testament in Belladonna’s faith in Delilah is in the fact that she is willing to turn a deaf ear to negative rumors about Delilah should they ever present themselves; knowing full well that Delilah isn’t capable of intentional wrongdoing. Due to how much she trusts Delilah and how much she believes this trust is shared, Belladonna was understandably hurt by Delilah’s refusal to tell her what was happening right before her disappearance. However, Belladonna’s understanding nature and acknowledgment of the circumstances, allowed her to move past the pain; happy to be with her best friend again. Just like Delilah, Belladonna is fully willing to defend her friend from others should the need arise and without a moment’s hesitation. Belladonna has stated that had she known everything about how Delilah’s husband treated her, she would have personally intervened despite her friend’s inevitable protests. Though Belladonna has done a great deal to find Delilah, she believes that it was both necessary and a small price in order to reconnect with her best friend; claiming should the situation call for it again, she would readily go through such an endeavor all over again.

It goes without saying that in times of hardship, you’ll see who your friends truly are. For Delilah, she can easily see who her true friend is, and she wouldn’t trade her for anything in the world; and neither would Belladonna.
