JenKiwi as part of a xmas card exchange. This one is made fomr one fuzzy sock and some felt. I had a difficult time with the feet but this challenge taught me that I do have some creative abilities afterall :)
I am thinking of taking commissions for these if anyone is interested?

I instantly recognized him as a kiwi - you've got the body shape, stout legs, and long thin beak down pat.
Perhaps what's throwing people off is that he's green? (But he's KIWI green, which is nifty because it makes him both a bird and a tasty pun, though green is a favorite of mine so there may be a teensie bit of bias there.)
Then again, kiwis are odd birds that most people can't immediately identify. (Example: the beanie babies made by TY had wings - though kiwi wings are so tiny and vestigial they can't be seen unless the bird has been plucked free of all plumage - because test markets thought that it looked "weird" without wings. A lot of other toy kiwis follow suit - the better ones are accurate, but the kiddie ones stick to the "legs + wings = bird" formula.)
