The proper kit which Sukeutese Z’gok and Hy-Gogg pilots are supposed to wear. Consisting of a rather tight wetsuit, rubberized gauntlets/boots and an emergency escape vest with accompanying mask. Unsurprisingly, it wouldn’t be even remotely popular with pilots, as wearing all that while strapped into a seat for hours on end would be incredibly uncomfortable. Not to mention heat, sweat etc. making it all even worse. And worst of all, it’d be debated if it’d even be worth wearing at all. As in most cases in the event of a cockpit breach or other reason for evacuation the pilot would most likely have already been killed.

As a result, many pilots don’t bother wearing the wetsuit or even escape vest. Instead many just wearing light uniforms or other more comfortable clothing. With the bulky vest frequently being replaced with a simple inflatable life preserver. Especially when operating in shallower waters where the risk of pressure related demises isn’t a factor. Though some do still wear the full kit.
