Lynn Rhea is a human researcher assigned to a special town set aside for secret research by a shadowing organization. There they research and investigate supernatural and scientific events kept hidden from the rest of the world. While investigating a rift to the void between worlds she went on an expedition into the portal with her team monitoring her from the lab. While inside she found a landscape that seemed to shift constantly and defy all laws of physics. While she was trying to process the fantastical world she did not notice her enviro suit melting away and her body changing. She was slowly transforming into an eldritch monster. After a few minutes in the rift a tentacle passed by her field of vision and following it back she found it was coming out of her thigh and the skin was slowly changing color. Panicked she ran back to the rift and into the lab. When she came back she quarantined herself and let the other scientists run tests to make sure she wasn't contagious. After finding her changes to be non contagious she was left and monitored as she continued to change and eventually stabilize. Her Upper body remained mostly human in appearance but her lower body became a mass of writing tentacles, ever shifting, dividing, absorbing and growing. After confirming her sanity with the other scientist and her personality unaltered she has been allowed to continue her research on many supernatural and highly classified things in the labs she can still fit in. She is given full freedom to wander the town but is no longer allowed out. She continues her exploration (the other scientists leaving the task to her since shes already been turned) and brings back samples for her department. Her goal is to make a suit for humans to join her on her expeditions without transforming and explore the world between worlds with her friends. Family and Friends outside the town are allowed to visit but only under strict conditions.

She has found her new body is extremely regenerative healing cuts instantly and found this even extends to her human half. (It was a big surprise when she got her head taken off by a new trigger happy guard who had not been briefed about her when they first met but when it grew back and they found nothing amiss all was forgiven). She can now make more rifts to the void and even open up ones to her own dimension of her making (she uses as a pocket storage and as a new home/room since she has trouble fitting in some smaller buildings). She is able to keep her form relatively small (around bus sized for her lower half if she concentrates, but while exploring and in her own dimension she likes to stop holding back and finds her lower half bigger and bigger each day, even to the point where her normal sized upper self looks out on a horizon of tentacles (even some maws and eyes when shes feeling like cutting loose). At first she couldn't comprehend her size but as the months wore on some form of eldritch sense grew within her and now she knows exactly how much of her and her realm exists and can control its full non euclidean glory. She doesn't realize this now but shes been slowly devouring bits of the void between worlds and growing her own dimension and influence. she is essentially a small eldritch horror growing in power. Lucky for everyone on earth she would never harm them.

I love that we just get to see the top half of her here and a little taste of her true self! I love the idea of her lower half constantly shifting like its made of some liquid but being a squishy fleshy solid when touched! and i like the idea when she cuts loose maws and eyes appear on her lower body to give her physical sight and allow her to devour the void even if she doesn't realize that's what shes doing just yet!

Here is to hoping she doesn't break into and devour other realities before realizing what shes doing!
