Base by samalamb-bases. (The setting, Todd's hospital room. He's in stable condition and able to talk.)
*Two officers come in to get his side of the story*
*Officer 1 jots down what the corgi said*
*Officer 2 after hearing all this and seeing his injuries asks,* "I assume you'll be pressing charges against your attempted murderer?"
*Todd sat there a moment* No! I know Anya, she feels bad enough as it is. I don't want anything bad to happen to her.

*The officers look at each other dumbfounded* Are you sure? She messed you up pretty badly.
*Todd nodded* She wouldn't do well in prison.
*The officers departed from the room*


(Meanwhile Anya was in custody downtown tears running down her face, waiting to hear that she'd be spending the rest of her life in jail...or worse.)
*Officer 1* Miss you're free to go.
*Anya* W-what?
*Officer 2* Little guy didn't want to press charges, I have no idea why.
*Anya* H-he didn't?! He wasn't angry?
*Officer 1* No Miss, he wanted you to be free. If anything he seemed sad.
*Anya went home to start cleaning the mess she had made, and found the present Todd left by her bedside for Christmas*
Should I open this? I might as well, oh there's a note wrapped around it.
*It read* "My dearest Anya, you know I love you more than my own life and safety. Will you marry me?
*She started sobbing uncontrollably as she opened the box*
*Contained inside was a diamond engagement ring, sized to fit her with enough room for her Winter weight.*
I have to give this back to him, I can't risk hurting him again.
*She made her way to the hospital where he was recuperating, meeting Todd's Mother Cordelia on the way to his room.*
*Cordelia said with an unusually hostile tone* Don't you EVER come near my son again, you monster!
*Anya intimidated by the much smaller corgi woman* I-i just wanted to return something and apologize to him.
*Cordelia* There aren't enough "apologies" in the world for what you did!! You nearly killed and ate my son!
*Anya dropped the box with tears streaming down her face, her heart broken.* I won't bother you guys anymore.
*Anya turned and left*

*Cordelia picked up the box and looked inside* He was going to propose to her?!
