Vulabee's brother, Oberon was forced into a position of leadership after their father died following the Great Burning of the Gloamweald. Despite his exterior no-nonsense, hard-working demeanor, he's still a young man having been forced to grow up too quickly. Due to Vulabee's avoidance of the village and any responsibilities in leadership that may be shared, their relationship with Oberon is strained. Oberon serves as the head of a familial council which oversees the largest main village of the remaining wealden Deva, which includes his lost cousin Uriele's family. Oberon strives to unify the remaining villages of wealden Deva into one, large group at the center of the Gloamweald, beneath the great boughs of the Heart of the Forest. By doing so, he hopes to protect the remaining Deva from encroaching danger of human hunters seeking them out, or the fires of war set by petty squabbles between kingdoms.
