From looking at all 4 trap orb body changes like past season. Seeing which is done of the character more, seeing who around long enough to get the changes and then using a wheel to help pick.

The cat decided along with the others to help his friend feel better. And John just put up with it. He decided that his husband's father's team would win this competition.
