So fun facts is that my labour of love is a Human!Transformers universe (The Ties That Bind) where animal-based Transformers become anthropomorphic, and the Quintessons become literal cosmic calamari!
They’re always seen in their armor on earth, which gave way to the belief that they were at least partially cyborg.
Like what eventually happens to earth society, theirs is segregated into different classes, specifically the standard workers, warrior class (which includes any law and enforcement work) and the intellectuals (which the Quintesson Judges are part of, but also include scientists, politicians and medics. Non-judges have a varying number of squids in each set though–single-squid intellectuals exist, albeit on a lower rung—with only the rare five-squid sets having the privilege of becoming judges, as more heads/larger heads = more intelligence and divinity in their culture. That these Judges also work as something of a hivemind is also seen as something to be emulated ie. the collective before the individual).

The ‘worker’ at the bottom is also a female of the species as she has an egg sac.
