It takes guts to waltz up to a terrorbird and tap their beak like that.
But most birds, especially members of the Ramphastos genus- ie., toucans , a common ancestor with terrorbirds - have a plethora of nerve endings in their beaks. It helps regulate temperature, find food, and socialize with other birds. Beak touches can be quite calming and comforting to a member of these birds.
