Just some tribute arts To Warhammer 40k!
I've been playing Tau for a little wile now, and have gotten quite good! =3
I picked Tau for 3 reasons.
#1: Lots of people talk Smack about them, how they "Suck" at close combat, and how their Sooo easy to beat. I took on the 'challenge' of playing Tau, and have made People Eat those words!
(fearless is just another word for, "Idiots that like to get the Shit beaten out of them")

Granted Powerweapons do make life hard for me
#2: Mother... Fucking... Robots! The only things that look as cool, are the Eldar, and the Necrons!
...Nids are also Sexy in their own way! >w> (Yeeeeay Tenticals)
And #3: "The greater good!"... The Tau ARE the only "Good" in the 40k universe.. everything else is Neutral at best.... And all Humans in 40k are Fucking Evil, and need some common sense beaten into them.

Anyway... This is one of my HQs.
She is a female Tau Shas'o, named Fire Storm.
Fire Storm's Job in my army is simple... Make things Die!
Which she dose to great effect with her two Bodyguards, all equiped with Twin-linked Flamers.... (Buuuuurn baby burn)
I've been working of a back story for her, since the first day I deployed her on the battle battlefield.
Her first battle was, when I was fighting my friend's Tyranid Army.
She was still a Shas'vre, partnerd with another crisis battlesuit, (both with Flamers)
The battle started with my friend deploying his Nids, on my side of the table, right beside my Broadside battle suits! (I knew he was cheating, but I let it slide, because I felt it would be a good challange to help me get better)
The Nids swarmed the first Broadside, an turned it to scrap, and then began to swarm towards the second ( I only had 2 Broadside)
End of 2nd turn things weren't looking too good. The 2nd Broadside was holding strong against a swarm of genestealers (Thank you +2 armor, and +4 Invul) But 20 Hormagaunts were on their way, and that waaay too much for any Tau unit!
Then beggining turn 3 I got my deep strike (Yeeeaaaaay)
Fire Storm and her Partner both dropped right up behind the Hormagaunts.
2 Twin-linked Flamers reduced 20 Hormagaunts to Ash, with only 2 vary confused, and terrified Hormagaunts flailing around in the dust that use to be their comraids.
After that my other HQ (Named Terror Star) showed up, an preceded to start blowing holes in the other Nids
At this point my friend conceded! X3
After that I promoted Fire Star to be my 2nd HQ, as a Shas'o (Terror Star is my Shas'el)
I modoled Both my HQs in XV25 stealthsuits (Yes yes I know thay have to be XV8 'Crisis Battlesuits) For all intensive purposes, They ARE XV8 'Crisis Battlesuits, all the points, an wargear are that of a XV8, and for 'Line of sight' I proxy in a XV8 for Shooting, and being Shot at!
I perfer the Xv25s because I like their look more, and it make it easy to tell my HQs, from their Bodyguards!
I quite proud of Fire Storm... I've had her in 4 battle so far, 3 of which she herself has annihilated the enemy, and brought me victory.
She has yet to fail a leadership test, and has not been defeted in combat.
The one battle I did lose with her, she was still alive, and still fighting. (I lost cause I ran out of time, and had less kill points)
My win loss count so far is:
Wins: 10
Loss: 6
Tie: 1
Ok... I'm done bragging about my Tau, N' stuff, I'mma go now!

YAY FOR THE TAU :3! I myself want to remake my armies (Orks: Neutral... cause I say so XD! Slaanesh: Emmm... am a little naughty thing x3? And Tau: Fuck, I hate humans, and these guys are the closest things to a 'good' faction that exist in that time) so kudos :3! And make moar Tau chicks pleeeeeez 83?
But they are so few that it still makes the species stupid x3 Another stupid one is the Eldar cause if they had few secrets and spoke directly we wouldnt have chaos bitting our asses most the time x3! Tau has been the mayority of a pain for me mostly due to the battlesuits. I hate much terrain with tau.. you should know xD.
I say they are one of the less closecombat but adds up with superior firepower. I run 3 armies atm , oh lawl, though focusing on Daemons of chaos which wouldnt be much of a suprise of me.

Certainly but this is not some units. Its an entire army. And every unit can save against your attacks and cant be instant killed. It can be pretty nasty with a toughness 6, wounds 6 , str 7 flame breath who has an aura that kills people around and another 24 inch ordnance blasts that wounds on +4 no armour save xD. Who has feel no pain and +4 inv save.
Quite nice even if im going for daemonettes then bloodletters atm.

As I understand it, morality in 40K is Gray-and-Black. There are no truely good factions, there's just one faction that has better morals than the rest (at least by OUR standards.)
That's just wrong IMO. I can't stand a game where there aren't any real opportunities to be "good".

There's plenty of opportunity to do good in the Imperium of Man. It's just that the second you do, one of the following happens to you.
A: You are doubted by your peers, and the Inquisitors take you away to 'question' you. If you're skills are of value, you're turned into a mindless murderous lunatic who gets high on combat drugs.
B: Killed outright by some xenophobic and pious asshole.
C: Quietly killed by some xenophobic and pious asshole (read: assassins)
D: Ridiculed horribly, virtually ending your military/political career, and consigning you to either early retirement (if you have the cash), or work in the factories (if you don't), or an assignment as an Imperial Guardsman (if they particularly hate you).

The Tau are not Good. Again, they are neutral at best. Take into account that to the Tau, individual freedoms are meaningless. If they set their sights on your planet, you're joining the greater good, whether you want to or not and anyone who resists being annexed, they just set the Fire Caste loose on them and take your world by force. The Etherials will wax phylisophical about how, regrettable it was and how sad they are that they were forced to emply violence, but not once will they EVER mention the very idea of leaving another race in peace to make its own way in the galaxy.
I'm sorry, but the Tau are not good, no race in the 40K universe is good and thats a deliberate policy on the part of the writers.

Biel'Tan craftworld actually state it as their mission to one day restore the Eldar empire and wipe out all the inferior races of the galaxy, so they can never be a threat anymore.
Orks fight, because it was what they were bred to do. The orks were created by a very advanced race that they know as Da Brainboyz, who engineered the Orks to be ultimate warriors and survivors to fight for them.
Nids ARE about survival, its about the only thing they are about. The Nids are a super predator, evolved purely towards its own self perpetuation.
Dark Eldar, are evil and they do tortcher every living thing they encounter, because thats what keeps them alive. Dark Eldar litterally feed off the pain and suffering of other sentient beings. Its what allows them to survive after their entire civilisation was consumed by Slaanesh.
The Imperium, is admitted xenocidal, but this is because of Man's history. The Imperium is shaped, not by racism or fear or petty pride, its shaped entirely by its experiences. 10'000 years before, during the great crusade, the Emperor was set to create a grand civilisation, built on science, understanding and logic. It was ripped down in an instant in the Horus Heresy. Thosuands of years before that, mankind had an even greater civilisation during the Dark Age of Technology. That came crashing down in the Age of Strife. Why? Both happened for the same reason: Chaos.
Chaos is the ultimate threat in the 40K universe, the one that the Tau cannot understand and the one they are most at peril from. The more the Tau profess to be open and tolerant of other races and cultures and beleifes, the more they let them practice what ever they want, the easier it is for Chaos to slip its way in and corrupt them from within.
The 40K universe is summed up in a quote, one that is in the start of every novel, every rule book, video game and the upcoming Space Marines movie. "There is no hope, there is no peace, there is only war"

I used to play Imperial Guards men but I had my own regiment from a adeptus mechanicus world and they have no issues with fighting alongside certain races (Eldar, Tau, Squats) for example.
But I gave GW the finger after they redid the codex for IG and started to rewrite thier own backstory :c
Still again, awsome, crip art and I'm off to play Dark Crusade as the Tau thanks to you

i realy love the tau, mainly because the appear to be the only race that isnt a stuck up asshole who cant see others oppions. XD if the imperium would only see that both eldar and tau would make good allys, then they could combat the real threat of chaos. but hey, if you think all Zenos are filth then fine, go ahead. you can handle the orks, necrons, choas and tyranids. :3 we the tau will just sit back and watch you get overwhelmed. its not our fault you cant see reason guela.

4 years ago man, cannon changes alot over 4 years. gods disapear, the ultra smurfs become stuipidly god like, and the tau may as well not exist. XD
also in terms of cannon, realy the eldar tryed to stem back the necrons when they were a big threat too the universe. honestly i dont blame the eldar too much for how they act now. hell even chaos i have learned alot about over the recent years.

in order to understand your enemy, you must know what makes them what they are. the various gods and there deamons are all parts of basic instinct and all life. this is something the gods themselfs forget as they embody the more negative side of things. for example khorn may be a god of vicious murder and complete masacer but thats because he represents a primal aspect of life: survival of the fittest. strength and skill are all that matters to him. also unlike the other gods he is far more unlikely to stab you in the back because he also belives in honour and justice. the problem is with so many corrosive ideas swirlign around in the warp, it leads to them takeing a far worser look at pretty much everything... but again, each of the gods embody parts of basic life principles.
oh hell no, i aint gona do that. but at the same time, i wana point out its like thousands of crying, whiny little fanboys said they were not dark enough, and then ten tons of bad shit had to be related too the tau to make them alot more darker, like the rest of the universe. for you to realise its dark, you need to see some light in the first place, and what with the entier imperium of man haveing its head shoved up its ass, the eldar turning there nose up at pretty juch everyone, even the human factions who wanted to help.

the orks being just simple minded psykers who are hell bent on haveing a good bash. or WARGH as they all it. more aaaa's if necisary. Dark elder self explanitory, chaos, again, pretty much explained by itself. the tau when first entroduced actuly had something too look up too. a group that wanted unity. thats not always a good thing, considering there tactics for such, sterliazation and the like (i go by the dark crusade lore for the tau, fuck these newer books XD ) but at least they were willing. thats more to say then the rest of the universe.

The Tau are not good.
They sterilize entire populations, mind control their people with the use of pheromones, and go on aggressive campaigns of conquest, subverting local governments to your will.
Also, humans are more neutral compared to the other shit in 40k. Honestly, I prefer my headcanon Imperium.
