In the Inner Sphere, you have to be crazy to throw yourself into a mech battle. Crazier still to throw yourself into a mech battle with just enough weapons and armor to be considered a threat, but not enough weapons and armor to size up against mechs three to five times your size and weight unless you're REALLY crazy. Worse, some even strap themselves willingly into a JR7-D Jenner, a light mech notoriously known for having a massive upper body. Because a light has fewer redundant systems than larger mechs, practically all of that upper body is vital to the survival of the squishy little pilot inside.
